Half a century ago, Orvis developed the first series of Graphite Fly Rods, like the Superfine Mid Flex 8'0" 6wt, some of the first graphite rods available to anglers. A subset of these innovative rods were less than 8’ long and ranged from 1 to 5 wt. These classics were prized for their soft feel and small-stream fishability.
